The 17th ASK14 meeting took place from 25th to 29th June at the gliderport of Laucha (near Leipzig). The meeting was organized by Markus Jakubiec supported by the „Haus der Luftsportjugend“ - HDL in Laucha.

The ASK 14 meeting was attended by 10 participants from the Netherlands and Germany. The first participants arrived on Wednesday. Three ASK 14 pilots flew in directly from their home airfields to Laucha. Jan had the longest journey to the meeting this year, traveling 470 km. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm front approached Laucha from the west on Thursday, so that it was only possible to fly to a limited extent. The day was used for workshop work on the ASK 14, excursions and lots of technical discussions. Friday morning was still overcast and rainy, but in the afternoon it was dry, so that some ASK 14s were finally taken out of the trailer and assembled. On Saturday, extensive flights were made over the Unstrut region in perfect flying weather. The participants who flew in directly were all able to fly home again on Sunday with the best climb rates and a base of over 2,000 meters. Many thanks again to Markus Jakubiec for the perfect organization and to Annette and Steffi, who took care of the catering. Thanks also to the Haus der Luftsportjugend e.V. for their hospitality. All ASK 14 teams felt very comfortable and will be happy to return.
